Common Names: Ruscus, Israel-Green
If you are searching for a “classic” green filler to accent your wedding day bouquet, centerpieces, and other floral arrangements, Italian Ruscus is it! Featuring elongated, narrow and pointy leaves, Italian Ruscus has a delicate aesthetic, making it a great choice of greenery when you want your flowers to take center stage. This evergreen shrub (officially called Ruscus hypoglossum) is native to Italy, Austria, Slovakia, and Turkey.
There are so many versatile ways to use this lovely foliage. Some of our favorites include using them to make garlands to drape around the bride and groom’s chair; making circular centerpiece wreaths accented with candles; hanging them along the altar for the ceremony, and using them as cascading pieces to complete the look of endless bridal bouquets. They can be used in vintage, rustic and opulent weddings. Available year round and long-lasting, hardy ruscus also makes a festive option for holiday decorating.
